Kristen Stewart YAWNS at red carpet premiere of BlacKkKlansman before breaking a cardinal rule of Cannes by taking her heels off and going barefoot.
There is believed to still be an unwritten rule that women are expected to wear heels on theCannes Film Festival red carpet.
So Kristen Stewart – a serving jury member in 2018 – seemingly performed a cardinal sin when she took off her stilettos beneath the steps of the Palais des Festivals on Monday night and proceeded on bare feet.
Clearly fatigued by her relentless schedule, the 28-year-old let out a little yawn at the premiere of BlacKkKlansman, where stars including Naomi Campbell, Alessandra Ambrossio and Cate Blanchett had turned out in their finery.
Not constricted by her outfit, Kristen still looked typically cool in a metallic minidress that skimmed off at her thighs to reveal her lithe legs.
Her ombre locks were slicked back in a wet-look hairstyle, while lashings of dark eye make-up attempted to distract from tired eyes.
Kristen previously protested the unspoken rule that women must wear heels on the red carpet at Cannes.
In 2015, a group of female attendees were reportedly denied access to the premiere of Carol, a Cate Blanchett film, because they were wearing flat shoes.
‘There’s definitely a distinct dress code,’ Kristen told the Hollywood Reporter in 2017. ‘People get very upset at you if you don’t wear heels or whatever.’
She added: ‘I feel like you can’t ask that anymore, but it’s still a given. If you’re not asking guys to wear heels and a dress then you can’t ask me either.’
